Advanced Periodontal Flap Surgery
Eradicate Deep Infection. Halt Bone Loss. Save Your Natural Teeth.
The Ultimate Defense Against Tooth Loss
Severe periodontal disease is a silent, progressive bacterial infection that aggressively destroys the jawbone and connective tissues anchoring your teeth. When deep periodontal pockets form far below the gumline, standard scaling is no longer physically capable of reaching the hardened calculus and necrotic tissue. Without specialist intervention, rapid bone deterioration and tooth loss are inevitable.
At Rattan Dental Care, our resident Periodontist, Dr. Manvi Narula, executes advanced Flap Surgery to permanently halt this destructive cycle. This highly precise microsurgical procedure grants direct visual access to the diseased tooth roots and compromised bone. By meticulously clearing the deep-seated infection, reshaping the damaged bone, and tightly reattaching healthy tissue, we eliminate the periodontal pockets and save teeth that other clinics would simply extract. Secure your foundation with Greater Noida’s leading periodontal authority.

The Anatomy of a Periodontal Pocket
Healthy gums fit tightly around your teeth like a turtleneck sweater, acting as a barrier against bacteria. However, as periodontal disease advances, toxic bacterial plaque hardens into calculus (tartar) deep beneath the gums. The body’s immune system attacks this infection, causing the gum tissue to pull away from the tooth and the underlying bone to dissolve. This creates a “pocket.” Once a pocket exceeds 5 millimeters in depth, no toothbrush, floss, or standard dental cleaning can reach the bottom. The infection is trapped, and surgical intervention is the only way to physically remove it.
The Microsurgical Protocol
Dr. Manvi Narula approaches flap surgery with extreme precision to minimize tissue trauma and maximize regeneration:
- Total Desensitization: We utilize highly effective local anesthetics. The entire surgical site is deeply numbed, ensuring you feel absolutely zero pain throughout the procedure.
- Surgical Access (The Flap): Dr. Narula makes precise micro-incisions to gently pull back (flap) a small section of the gum tissue. This finally exposes the hidden, diseased tooth roots and the deteriorated jawbone.
- Deep Debridement & Root Planing: Using specialized ultrasonic and hand instruments, the toxic calculus and infected granulation tissue are completely scraped away. The tooth roots are then smoothed to prevent bacteria from easily reattaching.
- Bone Reshaping (Osseous Surgery): Because the infection often leaves the jawbone jagged and uneven, Dr. Narula meticulously smooths the bone to remove hiding places for bacteria and allow the gums to reattach properly.
- Precision Suturing: The cleansed gum tissue is secured tightly back against the teeth with micro-sutures, eliminating the deep pockets and locking out future infection.
Guided Tissue Regeneration (GBR)
If the bacterial infection has caused severe, localized bone craters, clearing the infection is not enough. During your flap surgery, Dr. Narula may deploy advanced regenerative techniques. By placing specialized bone grafts and biocompatible membranes into these bone defects, we can actually stimulate your body to regenerate the lost bone and connective tissue, restoring the structural integrity of the tooth.
The Danger of Delay
Periodontal disease does not pause. If you are experiencing chronic bad breath, gums that bleed heavily when brushing, teeth that feel slightly loose, or gums that are visibly receding and exposing your roots, your bone is actively melting away. Do not wait until extraction is your only remaining option. Immediate periodontal surgery is the most conservative way to keep your natural teeth for a lifetime.
